Plans for Return to Accra 2027
The Accra Principles on the Protection of Black Women and Girls were declared in Accra on 28 May 2025, during the Ghana Liberation Tour, and signed at the British High Commission grounds. An eighth, Environment, follows in 2027.
Protect Black Women is an empathic and empowering movement providing a network and support system for Black women and girls. We combat misogynoir and racial trauma through advocacy, counselling and community.
Misogynoir is the particular hatred and prejudice directed at Black women, where racism and sexism meet. The term was coined by Dr Moya Bailey.
About usSeven were declared in 2025, each naming an area of life where Black women and girls must be protected. An eighth is still to come.
Through our partner Headstrong Counselling, we sponsor counselling for Black women with Black and racialised therapists.
£290 can sponsor a course of therapy for one woman.
